School of Skill Development
To develop discipline-specific/ multi-disciplinary technical skills and enhance employability, BFCET has established School of Skill Development which emphasizes on imparting the practical skills among the students in order to make them ready for the challenges in the digitalized transformation of technical education to gain access to decent employment. The institute offers skill development activities which includes certificate courses, live projects, technical contests, institutional training and workshops etc. to inculcate continuous learning among students this is required for career development. Specialized training seminars/guest lectures are arranged for the students to learn advanced technologies. Certificate courses such as Fundamentals of Python Programming, Machine Learning with Python, Artificial Intelligence with Python, Concrete materials and Industrial automation are offered to the students in collaboration with industry giants such as INTEL, FESTO, EdGate and Ambuja/JK cement etc. that serve as a platform to bridge the gap between the university curriculum and the industrial need.
The quality of technical education largely depends upon how well an Institution upgrades and aligns itself with the ever changing world of Technology. The foundation of these technological updates comes from the underlying and deep rooted research that an institution does to scale up and meet the standards of industry in all respects. From infrastructural development to student and faculty development it takes a considerable amount of time, effort, energy and resources to build the learning eco-system that is technically relevant in this era of fourth Industrial revolution. This is primarily the reason why many colleges are struggling today and are at the verge of closure.
While we move through this important transition phase, it’s imperative for us to share the gist of our journey so far. We started our journey of School of Skill Development with small incremental steps but with a big vision. We fundamentally knew the importance of taking everyone on the same page and pace, so we started our skilling journey through the sensitization phase where number of workshops on Skill Development were organized for faculty and students in association with some of the top industries, educational institutions and Skill Development Institutions. Some of the participating institutions in this sensitization phase included Trident, Indo-Swiss Training Centre, National Institute of Technical Teacher Training and Research, BOSCH, National Skill Development Corporation and so on.
The ultimate goal behind all these skill development activities is to give students every possible opportunity to get skilled and get selected in their dream companies at their dream jobs. We are hoping that as we move along with the above mentioned steps, we will certainly make our students and their parents feel proud about studying in the best institutions of the region and the country.
