About the Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering aims to impart students with the techniques to modernize manufacturing industries with the latest trends in manufacturing, using Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing, Computer Integrated Manufacturing etc. By the end of their Four-Year curriculum, they will be fully trained to suit the needs of the industry and will also be technically competent to work in different fields.
The Mechanical Engineering program at Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology is best suited to meet the ever-changing requirements of engineers. We have a strong undergraduate program in mechanical engineering. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical know-how to students. We promote their problem-solving skills and innovation of new technologies. The mechanical department offers numerous optional certificate courses for providing a wide spectrum of options to the students to gain knowledge about their interest beyond the curriculum.
Program Overview - B Tech Mechanical Engineering
A branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines. Mechanical Engineering emerged in the 19th century from the developments in the field of physics. In today’s era, Mechanical engineers are gaining new research heights in fields such as composites, mechatronics, and nanotechnology. The role of a mechanical engineer is to take a product from an idea to the marketplace. The breadth of the mechanical engineering discipline allows students a variety of career options beyond the few mentioned above. The study of the Mechanical engineering empowers students with creative thinking to design new product; analytical tools to turn their design to reality; and most importantly the teamwork.
